About Me

Jasmine Ortiz is not your ordinary artist; she is multi-lingual, multi-talented, and is rapidly rising as a Pop Megastar.  Born in NY, this Latina proudly represents her Hispanic heritage from Spain, Puerto Rico and El Salvador. With over 11 million combined views on YouTube for her music videos, it is hard to imagine that Jasmine was originally born without a voice.  In fact, Jasmine continues her journey of “finding her voice” as she evolves herself in every aspect of her life.

Originally born with an Esophageal Trachea Fistula, this condition left the top portion of her esophagus disconnected while the bottom portion of her esophagus was connected to her windpipe. Jasmine spent over one month in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital requiring her to undergo a life-saving surgery shortly after birth.  Jasmine’s vocal cords and lungs were very fragile after surgery that Jasmine had no voice and nothing was audible for almost a year even when Jasmine cried.

Motivated to overcome this physical limitation, Jasmine began her own journey of trying to “find her voice”.  Although Jasmine was not old enough to express herself with speaking, she took it upon herself at the age of two to hop onto a baby grand piano and tap out a simple melody inside a restaurant while her parents were eating. Determined to “find her voice”, Jasmine began piano classes which fueled her passion for music and the entertainment industry.

By the age of six, Jasmine was signed to Abrams Artists, the bicoastal agency for acting and modeling, which became a twelve-year working relationship. Jasmine received her SAG/AFTRA card by the age of 10, with many acting, modeling, voice over and theater accolades under her belt which included Nickelodeon and Sesame Street to name a few.

She composed and performed her first song at the age of 8 in front of an entire school. Graduating from one of the TOP 25 Arts High Schools in the United States (Charter Arts High School-PA) and double majored in piano and guitar.

Jasmine is also multi-instrumental and uses “her voice” through the piano, the guitar, the viola, saxophone, and drums. Her level of theory composition is at an advanced college level. Having been to over 15 countries by her sophomore year of high school, she is both well-spoken and embraces cultural diversity.

Jasmine is also academically gifted; she was the Vice President of the National Honor Society, scored in the top 5% in SAT scores for the entire state of PA, and earned scholarships to some of the most prestigious schools in the U.S. and London.  Jasmine ultimately enrolled at the Frost School of Music at The University of Miami and is currently in her senior year pursuing her degree with majors in Musicianship, Artistry Development and Entrepreneurship with a minor in Political Science.

Excelling in school, Jasmine continues to make the Dean’s list and uses “her voice” as a Model UN delegate representative winning many competitions in schools such as Harvard, Columbia, and George Washington in DC.  To Jasmine, her life is dedicated to being a voice for the voiceless and is extremely passionate about Women’s Rights, addressing Racial Injustice, developing Humane Immigration Policies, and aspires to reverse the effects of climate change from the corporate level. Jasmine is also motivated to make an impact with education reform and increasing funds to public schools to enhance student success.

Being born without a voice, Jasmine has impressively released music in English, Spanish and Chinese. Jasmine has achieved notoriety by working hard and in less than a year, she released numerous music videos in different languages: “Miles Away”(English), “Miles Away” (English/Chinese), “Que Sera” (English/Spanish), and “HOT” (English/Spanish).

Her music video for “Intentions” (English/Spanish) was the first to reach over one million views. In less than a year as an independent artist, Jasmine garnered over 3 million views and streams between her videos on YouTube and on other channels such as Vevo/ Vydia, Music Choice, HTV, Rumba TV, and on Spotify, Audiomack & other streaming platforms.  Jasmine’s fan base reaches far beyond the U.S. into Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and into Latin America.
